The oxygen evolving center
(I) is a part of PSI known as the water splitting enzyme.
(II) breaks two H₂O molecules into four protons,four electrons and O₂.
(III) requires four light-dependent reactions to generate O₂.
(IV) frees an electron from oxygen for replacement of the photooxidized electron in P680.
