During the supinator twist, the eversion of the calcaneus occurs.
Whenever the hind foot pronates the transverse tarsal joint and supinates to counter - rotate the fore foot. If the supination at the transverse tarsal joint is not sufficient, then the first and second ray will dorsiflex. The third and fourth rays will plantar flex. The compound action is the inversion. Thereby the entire foot undergoes an inversion rotation. This rotation is referred as supination twist.
