The Moro reflex is normal until 0 - 6 months of age. The baby is kept supine and the head drops backwards when presented with loud noise. The response is abduction and extension of the arms, hands open followed by adduction of the arm. Persistence of this reflex beyond 6 months is considered as abnormal.
