Lewin’s Model of change consists of three stages and the three stages are defined as given below:

1. Unfreezing: It represents a status quo of the employees where they are in a rigid state so that they are opposing changes. The organization on the other hand is trying to reduce the forces which are hindering the change process.

2. Moving: In this state the organization and its employees are willing to learn, experiment and innovate so that they can keep pace with the change the organization is facing.

3. Refreezing: Once the organization reaches the desired level of performance the management seeks the employees not to accept any more changes so that it can keep pace with the good going.
