However, the glucose reserves in the body are limited, and the body needs to supply the fuel for all other parts also. Therefore, alternate fuels need to be mobilized to the muscles to meet the energy needs. Several hormones are involved in mobilization of free fatty acids from adipose tissue to spare carbohydrate.
