Cell signaling is defined as the system of communication between cells that coordinate cellular activities. Cells are capable of detecting changes in their external and internal environment. They respond to these changes in order to maintain homeostasis. They send and receive signals from other systems in order to alter the physiology, so that homeostasis is achieved.
