Production cost report tells about the unit cost of goods produced by using the equivalent units, cost of goods which are completed and transferred and cost of ending work in process. The report consists of direct material and conversion costs. The unit cost is the sum of direct material and conversion costs.
The report calculates the units accounted for and the cost accounted for these units. Units accounted for includes the units which are completed and transferred out and the ending inventory. Costs includes of cost of which have been completed and accounted for. Conversion costs include direct labour costs and manufacturing costs.
