Honeypot:

A honeypot is a computer system that contains servers, devices and data open to attackers. The name itself says that, it is an attractive computer system to lure the attackers.

The main aim of honeypot is described as follows:

• A computer system is to watch the attackers by attracting the data and servers with open ports in the network. But it must be monitored by a firewall or another protecting device.

• By using the honeypot, the computer system can find the types of attacks, behaviour of the attackers can analyse it and rectify it to strengthen against the new attacks.
