Introduction to Epidemiology 6th Edition by Ray M Merrill
Edition 6ISBN: 1449645186Name the three common pathways in which people are exposed to radiation.
Step 1 of 3
Humans are regularly exposed to natural as well as manmade sources of radiation. Natural sources include radiations from the earth’s crust, solar radiations and radiations from the outer space. Manmade sources include industrial processes, medical procedures (such as X-rays, radiation therapies), luminous watches and others.
High levels of radiation exposure for a shorter time period and lower radiation levels when exposed for longer durations have been known to cause benign tumors, precancerous lesions, and different types of cancers, chromosomal aberrations and skin changes.
