Suppose in a given region in 2012 there were 500 fetal deaths with 28 or more weeks of gestation and 200 newborns dying within the first 7 days of life. The number of live births was 150,000.What is the perinatal mortality rate?

Perinatal mortality rate is the death of either a neonate or a fetus divided by total live births and total late deaths of fetal, calculated per 1,000 births. The numerator consists of the summation of all the deaths of fetuses in the first week of life and the fetal deaths that occur at a later stage (28 weeks or more of gestation). This parameter is calculated in a particular geographic region.
