By 1934, a great deal was known about poliomyelitis. Summarize all that was known about the epidemiology of polio.

During the year 1934, the means of transmission of polio was known to be direct from one person to another. It was supposed that this disease is biphase that is, it consist of two phases. Various flies, insects and animals were not considered as vectors of the particular disease. Some of the patients suffered from crippling paralysis while others did not show any signs any symptoms of the disease.
