1. Local Area Network (LAN): A LAN is a computer network that interconnects computers in a limited area, such as a home, computer laboratory, school or office building, which use network media. LAN shares network services, such as e-mails, databases and application services, by connecting various workstations and various servers via a set of LAN protocols and various access methods. The two types of LAN are Campus Area Network (CAN) and Metropolitan Area Network (MAN).
