Importance of Confidentiality

Confidentiality is one of the important security goals that must be ensured. The confidentiality of data/information in simplest terms implies preventing the data from being disclosed by unauthorized users. Confidentiality is necessary as it helps keep the data safe, secure, and private.

Confidentiality is very important to the corporate information. Information about the company employees, their names, addresses, social security number (SSN), user IDs, passwords and many others must not be disclosed by unauthorized users.

Information about company policies, business strategies, development strategies, project details, client details, and other important information must not be revealed by unauthorized users and hence must be kept confidential.
