Synovial fluid:

Synovial or movable joints have a hollow space filled with viscous fluid termed as synovial or joint fluid.

Synovial fluid-Formation:

• Synovial fluid is formed in synovial membrane as a plasma ultra-filtrate.

• The filtration is nonselective with the exception of avoidance of high-molecular weight proteins.

• The synoviocytes discharge a mucopolysaccharide having hyaluronic acid and a little measure of protein into fluid and this contributes to provide viscosity for the fluid.
