Sperm morphology:

Sperm morphology is evaluated using the structure of semen with its head, tail and neckpiece.

• Morphologically incapable sperm results are infertility and it is not capable of fertilization.

• Morphology of a sperm is evaluated when it is viewed under microscope; if the sperm have oval head and long tail then it is considered as normal sperm.

• The sperm with defects in tail and head are considered as abnormal.

• The evaluation of sperm morphology should done using WHO (World Health Organization) criteria, and Kruger’s strict criteria.
