Step 1 of 2

Sperm motility:

• Motility of sperm is the movement of sperm which is led by flagella present in sperm.

• The neckpiece, midpiece, and tail part of a sperm induce sperm motility to reach the female egg properly.

o “Neckpiece” of a sperm is used to join the head to the tail and midpiece; it makes head to move properly to the desired part.

o The “midpiece” is a thickest part of tail in a sperm which contains mitochondrial cover to produce energy to tail for flagellar movement.

o “Tail” part of a sperm is used to make the sperm to swim to reach ovum.
