Differentiate between CSF specimens caused by intracranial hemorrhage and a traumatic tap.

Bloody specimen of CSF (cerebrospinal fluid) is analyzed to detect whether it is caused by intracranial hemorrhage or traumatic tap.

Cerebrospinal fluid specimen is collected in three sterile tubes labeled 1, 2, and 3.

• Tube 1 is used for serologic tests and chemical test

• Tube 2 are designated for microbiology department

• Tube 3 is used for cell count
