Mononuclear leukocytes are also called agranulocytes.

• They have single lobed nucleus and cytoplasm has no granules.

• Monocytes, macrophages, and lymphocytes are mononuclear cells.

• Mononuclear cells and neutrophils of renal tubular epithelial cells have resemblances, which is difficult for identification.

• Amoeboid motion of WBC has irregular shape and it is the factor which makes difficult in discrimination of leukocytes from epithelial cells.
