Copper reduction Test:

• It is also called Clinitest

• The test is used to detect glucose and other substances ability to reduce copper sulfate to cuprous oxide with the presence of heat and alkali

• Benedict solutions contain sodium carbonate, sodium citrate buffer, and copper sulfate

• To this solution, urine is added, heat is applied and a precipitate is formed from

negative blue -> green -> yellow -> orange or red color
