One of the key features of democracy is that the people can criticize and even replace the leaders.  In democracy, the citizens are required to participate in the decisions of the government. Citizens must be aware of the public issues, follow the conduct of the elected leaders, and fearlessly express opinions.  Periodically, citizens also should involve in voting for electing the leaders. Since the people of the country elect their leaders and government, people themselves are responsible for the decisions and policies of the country. The economic representatives such as large corporations, successful small businesses and organized clusters having business interests exert significant influence on US government policy.
