In the present scenario people have become self-centered. Modern society is more often seems to be remote, and there is no feeling of belonging within a group. Being a member of a voluntary group an individual can have a positive impact on the community. This sort of volunteering allows an individual to get connected to his or her community and help the humans, organizations in need. While volunteering an individual get exposed to people of different race, gender, age group, social status, etc., which improves social ad relationship skills. Sense of individuality within a voluntary group has to be in a pleasing manner. A voluntary individual may come across situations where other may offend to what he or she likes. The sense of an individual should be to manage the things well, and make sure that the needy get the best treatment in all the circumstances.

In general the social changes that might encourage people to join the various support groups are as follows: • Change in culture to use of existing knowledge allows individuals to get involved in voluntary activities. • Demographic transition allows the individual to come across various social class status, gender, race, age group, etc., which motivates the individual to bring change in themselves and within society. • Social moments in which group people indulge in activities that bring change in norms and values of the society motivate the individuals to join support groups.

In a scenario, where people join support groups in the aftermath of major life transition-a death, recovery from addiction, the desire to lose weight, etc., may also be benefited. Even though this sort of service is for self-benefit, it is considered to be honest from the support group point of view, as individuals have a goal to serve and learn. In this situation, the membership with these support groups will help the individuals to revitalize their lives. The support group will have no objection for the volunteer to be self-centered, as their motto is to help the needy. Moreover, people indulging in these activities will serve as an effective volunteer. Their personal life experience will help the group to effectively meet their vision being a win-win strategy.
