Drug is the thing that acts on the certain organs and lowers the pain or the disease. Pharmacology as the name indicates it is the study of the medicines or the drug. It includes the administration of the drug, its action on a certain organ, their response and the amount of the drug to be administered for better results. Drug prototype is the comparison of one drug with the other drugs in the same class. So it is difficult to remember all the names of the drug. To minimize that drugs have three basic names called the chemical, generic and trade names. Generic names are easy to remember by the nurses and also by the students. These are given by the United States Adopted Name Council. Trade name is also called the proprietary name or the band name. This name is easily remembered by the patients and common people. Generic drugs and trade drugs are the same but differ in the inactive ingredients like preservatives and the flavoring agents added in the drug. Generic drugs also differ in the color, expiry date cost and labeling.

The natural sources are Catharanthus roseus (Vinca rosea), the Madagascar periwinkle, and Tabernaemontana pachysiphon

A perfect drug is safe and effective but there is no perfect drug till now as some meet some criteria and others meet some criteria. But to be effective a drug should have degree of effectiveness for treating or preventing a health condition. Thus a drug is approved based on the degree of effective and the condition on which the drug is approved is called the indication. The two basic types of drugs are the therapeutic classification and the pharmacological classification. Therapeutic classification deals with the type of drug that is being administered to treat the disease whereas the pharmacological classification deals with the action of the drug.
