Answer:

Answer:

The bryophytes are known as non vascular plant, which do not have xylem and phloem.
The all groups of bryophyte has following three traits that evolved in early plants-
• Their cuticles are waxy, which helps in conservation of water in the parts that are above the ground.
• It has a cellular jacket around their gametes.
• The gametophytes of bryophyte are larger than sporophyte and do not get nutrients from it.
From the bryophyte the development of plants like characters starts so, it is known as the first plant.
Hence, the correct answer is '(c) bryophytes'.
The brown algae are the algae that are found at the rocky shore at low tide. It looks like olive green and brown seaweeds. The green algae have two groups- chlorophytes and charophytes, in which charophytes are more closely related to the plants that are found on land. In these algae chloroplast contain chlorophyll a and b and they also store sugar as starch. But neither brown algae nor green algae are known as first plant.
Hence, both the options '(a) brown algae' and '(b) green algae' are incorrect.
Lycophytes are known as seedless vascular plant. Its sporophyte has true leaves with larger vascular tissue. But Lycophytes are not first plant.
Hence, the option '(d) lycophytes' is incorrect.

Answer:

Answer:

The logging of wood means cutting the wood of trees for use from the forest. It is not good practice for the environment. By this practice the number of trees reduces and that create a problem for environment. It is very important to stop the logging of trees. This is easy to chain an individual or few people to stop the loggers in the forest. But it is not easy to chain millions of people for the same task.
In the wood frame house more wood are used and by that more logging of forest takes place. And it is also not easy to stop millions of people to have wood framing houses. It is because in developed countries peoples love to have a house that is made by wood framing. And in the earthquake prone countries houses are made up of wood. So, it is not easy for the millions of people to stop logging of wood.
The trees and plants are very important for us because-
• The trees provide us food to eat, wood for our uses and the most important thing is it provide us oxygen. Without oxygen no life is possible on earth. The green plants and trees in the process of photosynthesis make food in the form of sugar and release oxygen gas.
• The trees also maintain the temperature as it takes carbon dioxide gas, which is responsible for global warming.
• Trees also protect the erosion of soil because it binds the soil particle with its roots.
So, if we run out of trees then it is not easy to survive because we are totally depends on plants and trees.
The pines are known as the coniferous trees of genus Pinus. The pines are evergreen, coniferous resinous trees and are most abundant tree in the Northern Hemisphere. There are many following pros of pine farming-
• The pines trees grow very faster and stronger.
• The farms of pin are less damage by the ice storm.
• The pines farms are used as its timber and wood pulp as its wood are insect resistant after logging so, it is used as indoor furnishing. And it is also used as Christmas trees.
• It is also use in biomedical as the tea is made by green pine needle are rich in vitamin A and C.
The cons of pine farms are that at southern east part the soil is in deficiency of nitrogen. But it recovers its deficiency in rainy season. These pine farms are found on the land that was used as the farming of tobacco, corn and cotton. So, these lands are originally deficiency of nitrogen and are infertile. The farmers have to do lots of work to improve the soil.

Answer:

Answer:

The bryophytes are known as non vascular plant, which do not have xylem and phloem.
The all groups of bryophyte has following three traits that evolved in early plants-
• Their cuticles are waxy,
• It has a cellular jacket around their gametes and
• The gametophytes of bryophyte are larger than sporophyte and do not get nutrients from it.
So, the sporophyte develops inside the gametophytes tissue. The sporophyte remains attached to gametophytes even when mature. The bryophytes that are independent are gametophytes but when it is attached, it is dependent to sporophyte. So, the gametophytes are the bryophyte when it is alone but in attached form it is dependent to sporophyte.
Hence, the correct option is '(b) gametophytes; sporophyte'.
The bryophytes are depends upon sporophyte when it is found in attached form. But when it is found alone it is independent gametophyte. So, it is wrong to say that it is dependent to gametophyte in attached form.
Hence, the option (a) sporophyte; gametophytes is incorrect.
From the lower epidermal cells of bryophyte, the hair like structure extends that is known as rhizoid. And when the male and female gamete fuse it form zygote. The sporangium is known as the sac in which spores are produce. And the sporangium that has stalked is known as stalked sporangium. But rhizoid are neither dependent to zygote not to stalked sporangium.
Hence, both the options '(c) rhizoids; zygotes' and '(d) rhizoids; stalked sporangium' are incorrect.

Figure 23.23 shows a Nahmint Valley forest in British Columbia after logging. It also shows the wood frames of homes being built. Would you chain yourself to a tree in such a forest to stop loggers If your answer is yes, would you also give up the chance to own a wood-frame home (as most homes are, in developed countries) What about forest products, such as paper tablets, newspapers, toilet tissue, wood furniture, and fireplace wood
