In the given case study, Mr. Watkins had a complex leg fracture and for making his leg movement proper. He has an exercise program designed by his physical therapist to restore his full range of motion (ROM). ROM helps in achieving the relative distance between the flexed position and the extended position of a particular joint or muscle group. Mr. Watkins is not ready to do any more exercise as it causes him discomfort. The suggested exercise by physical therapist is important for him, for that he should know the importance of ROM exercises, which include the following: 1. ROM exercise encourages the mobility and flexibility of the joints. It will make the walk easy and one can easily move the leg accordingly. 2. It helps in circulation of the blood in the leg and decreases the chance of blood clot. 3. In case of Mr. Watkins, if he fails to do the exercise it will block the muscle contraction and he would not be able to use the leg properly.

In the given situation, a patient is going to have his first hydrotherapy treatment. There is a need to tell the patient about the therapy and the possible outcomes of the therapy. It should be at 95 degree F to 105 degree F. d) Assist the patient properly in exposing or disrobing the area to be treated. One can experience positive outcomes after undergoing hydrotherapy. Moving in warm water enhances the flow of blood to the organs, muscles, and the surface of the skin. In turn, better circulation recovers lymph drainage that helps to eradicate toxins out of the body. This makes a stronger immune system that assists to mitigate and prevent bacterial and virus infections.
