Essay
Answer:

Answer:

Network Topology
The Star topology is the most common in wired networks and the bus topology is the most common in wireless networks.
Explanation:
A star topology basically connects directly every node to the shared hub, router, or with the switch and its main advantage is that it uses simple wiring while the bus topology is basically used in the common wireless networks.

You have been asked to design a network (wired, wireless, or a combination) for a home on which construction will start soon. The home is serviced by a cable TV provider and local phone company, and both provide Internet connectivity. It has two levels totaling 250 meters 2 (2700 feet 2 ). Five people will live in the home and use three laptop/netbook computers, a desktop computer, a multimedia server, an Internet-connected TV device (for example, TiVo or digital cable DVR), two multifunction printers, and at least five handheld 802.11g wireless devices, such as iPods and cell phones. Based on Internet connectivity options in your own area, recommend whether the home should get Internet services via DSL or cable TV. Also, recommend network infrastructure, including a router/firewall, wireless access points, wired switches, and combination devices. Should the homeowner have wired Internet connections installed during construction? If so, what wire types should be used, and in what rooms should connection points be placed?

Answer:

Answer:

Home Based Network
Home based network requires internet connection or internet services via the DSL or Digital Subscriber line as it uses high frequency of the digital signals over the existing voice copper phone lines so as to carry the data directly from the company of phone switching station to the residential homes. While the cable TV providers doesn't provides monopoly on the phone carriers and the fiber services.
The network infrastructure must include a router/firewall and the homeowner should include wired internet connections installed during the construction of the home as the devices connects through the Ethernet cable or using the Wi-Fi b using the DSL modem thus no need of wired internet connection must be there.
The wire used must be of copper voice lines of wire so that they can carry the data directly from the company's phone switching station up to the residential home. Thus each room in the home must use the exclusive service of this line from the house to the central office while the computer systems and the other devices in each room must connect through the Ethernet cable or using the Wi-Fi by using the DSL modem.
