Stress stand for the tension, pressure, unease an individual face when due to adverse demanding situations affecting the personal as well as professional life of an individual. It is said that every manager should be concerned about stress at workplace. This could be explained by stating that when an employee works under stress it affects his overall well-being including physical health, psychological health, and behavioural issues. A stressed employee undergoes weaken immune system, depression, anxiety, decreased self-confidence, anger/hostility etc. As a result, an employee's performance is reduced affecting job satisfaction, increasing absenteeism, turnover, workplace injuries etc. This is not at all beneficial for the employee as well as for the organization and efforts should be made from everyone to keep stress at away and prevent its occurrence to achieve wholesome success. This is the reason why every manager should be concerned about stress at workplace.

General adaptation system stands for the predictable way through which a body response towards stress making use of the following three stages - • The first stage is called as alarm stage wherein the body responses to the distress signals sent to it through various internal and external factors and increases the burst of energy to deal with the stressors. • The second stage is called as resistance stage wherein after facing stress and distressed situations, the individual body starts resisting towards it by accepting the stress and finding solutions to keep it away using various possible technique. • In the third stage of exhaustion, the individual either takes the stress properly and tries to live with it or have prevented it from taking place by using various stress dealing techniques.

There are two types of personality- Personality A and Personality B. It is researched and discovered that the people belonging to Personality A possess the traits that supports stress in most of the cases. This is because the people of Personality A type feel time urgency, cannot cope up with their leisure time, they feel to do and obtain more in shortest time which makes them stressed, hostile and aggressive. While, people belonging to Personality B are calmed, slow-down, patient and never feel time urgency in their daily life. They are simple workers and like to take things as they come without planning for it much. This is the reason why people belonging to this personality hardly feel stress and undergo tension and pressure. Thus, it could be concluded that personality and personality type affects the stress levels in an individual.
