Hence, it can be concluded that survey method is an effective way of data collection.

Survey comprises a method of data collection from various respondents. It utilizes the questionnaire technique to collect the relevant data. Methods of conducting surveys depend upon the following factors: • Number of respondents available for a survey. • Various costs involved in conducting the surveys. • Selection of communication media tools that is required for collection of data including online and conversation mode. • Nature and importance of required data. • Types of questions included in the questionnaire viz. open-ended, closed-ended, objective or multiple choice questions. All these factors help to determine the design and layout of a survey method.

Four basic survey modes are as mentioned below: • Person-administered surveys: In person-administered surveys, the interviewer is directly involved in seeking responses from interviewee. The respondent's answers are well recorded to finish the survey. • Computer-administered surveys: In computer-administered surveys, computer technology plays a significant role. In this survey, computer assists respondent to complete the survey. • Self-administered surveys: In this survey, respondent finishes the survey by himself. It is slightly different from the other survey methods, because it does not have a mediator or computer administering the interview. • Mixed mode or hybrid mode surveys: In this survey, different types of data are collected by utilizing the different modes to complete the survey.
