What role do job descriptions and job specifications play in an effective recruitment program?
Job analysis stands for the process that identifies the duties and responsibilities of every position existing in the firm. It also describes the qualities that an employee at a particular position should possess in order to properly fit to the job. Job description and job specification are a part of job analysis.
The role that job descriptions (JD) and job specifications (JS) play in an effective recruitment program are that job description stands for the written narrative form of the job that describes that general tasks that the particular position needs to deliver. It also mentions the other duties, and responsibilities that a job must cater to. Taking this information as the basis, the HR department hires candidates checking their abilities and potential to deliver the duties and responsibilities required in the particular position applied by them.
Similarly, job specification stands for the statement that details the characteristics of the employee who is expected to hold a particular position in the firm. It describes the attributes, experiences, and qualifications needed by the person applying for the particular position in the firm. This information helps the HR department to hire those candidates who provide the required skills, attributes, and characteristics.
To conclude, it could be said that job descriptions (JD) and job specifications (JS) offers detailed information the post for which a particular candidate has to be hired. It contains details of specific skills so that there is a perfect fit between the position and the employees hired for it. This makes the recruitment program quite easy and effective to undertake.

Considering that there are millions of resumes posted on the Web, what steps should recruiters follow to screen out unqualified candidates in a fair and nondiscriminatory manner? Explain your answer.
Recruiters, especially those using screen software that searches for (or deletes based on) certain words or phrases, should be very careful with their wording choices. There is legal risk if using terms or phrases that will disproportionately eliminate candidates from protected classes. For instance, using terms such as blind, Muslim, single , or Asian , would be unwise.
