Group roles

In this case, there exist three main group roles, self interest roles, group maintenance roles and the group task roles. Thus the members who play self interest roles are the one who say and do things that provide assistance to themselves. Thus the performance of the group suffers when the members of the group put their personal need before the needs of the group.
