Step 1 of 2

The role of intuition : Intuitive decision-making is a subconscious process of making decisions on the basis of past experience and accumulated judgment. The intuitive decision making is enabled in a manager through:

• High experience

• Strong observation

• Intelligence

• Willingness to learn

However, having vast experience of a particular situation or problem makes the intuitive decision maker effective. Although intuitive decision making can be done by anybody, the strong sense of intuition is found in only those managers who are highly experienced.

In many of the daily life situations, the managers do not rely on a systematic or thorough analysis of the problem. Instead they make decisions based on feeling, experience and judgment.
