Graph a simple muscle twitch and a contraction that results in tetanus.

Muscular contractions that are involved in normal body movements are called simple twitches. If the frequency of neural stimulations is high, the response become additive, the muscles do not relax between the stimuli. This is called summation. If the frequency of stimuli increases further, the individual contraction blends together into a single, sustained contraction called tetanus.
