Edition 5ISBN: 0134085043Do firewall rules have to be symmetric? That is, does a firewall have to block a particular traffic type both inbound (to the protected site) and outbound (from the site)? Why or why not?
Step 1 of 2
Firewall
A firewall is a device that can filter all the traffic between the protected or an inside network and outside or a less trustworthy network.
The main purpose of the firewall is to keep the bad things outside of the protected environment thus to accomplish this firewall makes a set of rules or it implements a security policy that is designed especially to address what all bad things might would happen. As, the rules or the policy might be used to prevent the access from the outside that is still the traffic is allowed to pass from inside to outside.
