Confounding variable is the variable that is directly or indirectly related to the both independent and dependent variable. This confounding variable is also known as confounder.

Multiple regression is the vast form of simple regression in which two or more than two variables which are independent are there. The effects of these independent variables can be assessed simultaneously on the dependent variable. Mostly, confounders are adjusted by this multiple regression model.
