Infectious diseases are those diseases that can be caused by pathogens which are the invading organisms. These infectious diseases may be transmissible and contagious or non-transmissible and not-contagious. Some of the examples of infectious diseases are influenza, leprosy, polio, mumps, cholera, and many others.

Non-infectious diseases can also be known as non-communicable diseases as well as situations like accidents, cancer, alcoholism, and many others.
