Epidemiology can be defined as study of determination of states of health, events in the population of humans, its distribution as well as the application of such studies in control as well as prevention of some health related consequences.

A close association exists between the infection chain as well as the epidemiology triangle. Transmission of disease occurs when pathogen leaves reservoir by means of exit that is portal and it is transmitted by several transmission modes.

The entry of pathogen or the agents that cause the disease enter inside the body by an entry portal as well as infects the host if it is susceptible. The reservoirs present inside the medium or even habitat the agents of infection thrive as prophage.
