The given case study was carried out to find out the correlation, if any, between the proximity of the mothers with the hazardous waste sites, and the incidence and risk of the new born baby to have a congenital malformation.

Odds ratios have been used in the case study to find out the correlation between the maternal residence and the distance from the toxic waste sites. If the odds value is above 1.01, it shows a positive correlation and as the values grow higher, the association grows stronger.
