What occupations are most vulnerable to acquiring cirrhosis of the liver from heavy drinking? List several of the occupations identified by research studies that are more vulnerable to alcohol-induced, cirrhosis-related deaths and that have the highest mortality rates.

Cirrhosis is a liver disease that progresses slowly in which there is scarring of the healthy liver tissue. The scarred tissue prevents blood flow through the liver and slows down nutrient processing. Certain proteins that are synthesized by the liver are also made at a slower rate. This disease can be caused by heavy alcohol consumption habits and Hepatitis C virus.
