In the given case study, a retrospective cohort study was used to find out the source of the Cyclosporiasis outbreak in Texas. The outbreak was found to be associated with a business meeting. Of the group of people who attended this meeting, some got sick due to Cyclospora infection while others were unaffected. Since, the outbreak involved a small but discrete group of people, the investigators followed a retrospective cohort study.
