Investigate the Current State of the EU Directive

1. The problem requests the current status of the EU Data Protection Directive on information privacy. The directive was issued by the EU to member states and was independently transformed into laws by those states. However, with a view on the changing content of private data, the EU unveiled a draft for a new European Data Protection Regulation that will override the previous directive on 25 January 2012. The proposed new regulation extends the scope of the previous law to all off-shore companies processing EU resident data.
