Instructions for random stool specimen collection

• Muscle fibers, leukocytes, fecal fats, blood in feces are tested with random specimen of feces

• The container, which is made up of glass have screw-top is used to collect random specimen

• Based on the type of test, suitable container should be used and the amount of feces varies depends on the test

• Dietary restrictions may be required

• The specimen should be collected in a clean container like bedpan container and disposable container and transferred to laboratory container

• The specimen should not contaminate with urine or toilet water and it should be sealed and taken immediately to the laboratory
