Semen analysis:

Semen analysis is a process of evaluating male fertility through microscopic and macroscopic examination.

• The analysis consists of parameters such as sperm appearance, viscosity, pH, volume, count, morphology, motility and concentration.

• Proper collection of semen fractions is very important for accurate analysis of male fertility evaluation.

• The first portion of the ejaculation is very important. Because, it contains majority of the sperm quantity.

• When the first portion of ejaculation is not collected, pH increases falsely and the volume of semen is decreased along with sperm count.
