Deck 12: Stress and Success in Family Life
1
What did the 6 featured families have in common?
They were all in the same childcare program, loved their children and wanted what was best for their children. They had different ways of showing love and different ideas about what was best, but the intent was the same for all families.
2
How is the power dynamic between adults and children shifting within families in relation to the emerging society?
Families are shifting from the model of having the dominator model give way to a true equity model. Parents are learning how to empower their children and using power with and for children, rather than overpowering. This allows children to feel personal power and have less need to overpower or manipulate others. They are free to fulfill their unique potential.
