Use logical subordinating words to combine the following pairs of simple sen­tences into sentences that contain a dependent thought. Place a comma after a dependent statement when it starts the sentence.
EXAMPLE
• Our team lost.
• We were not invited to the tournament.
Because our team lost, We Were not invited to the tournament
• Ronald Reagan started his career as a radio announcer.
• He ended it by holding the highest office in the land.
