تمرين 1
Interview a manager at any level in any organization, including a retail store or restaurant. Determine which of the 17 managerial roles the manager you interview thinks apply to his or her job. Find out which one or two roles the manager thinks are the most important. Be ready to discuss your findings in class. You can often gain insight into which roles the manager emphasizes by asking about challenges the manager faces. For example, when asked about the biggest challenges in her job, a restaurant manager might say, "Turnover is a bear. It's so hard to find good servers who stick around for at least a year." The manager's comments indicate the organizing function.

• Disturbance handler: Under this function of controlling, a retailer is responsible for handling all the disturbances in the business that may involve conflicts and issues between the team members or with a customer.
• Entrepreneur: As an entrepreneur a retailer is responsible for bringing innovative and creative ideas for the success of the business.
• Most important managerial skills required for a retailer is strategic and organizational planning, organizing, entrepreneurship, and team building. All these functions if managed effectively and efficiently can result in successful accomplishment of the objectives.
