Glucose is filtered through the glomerulus and enters the tubules as part of the glomerular filtrate. However, most of the filtered glucose is reabsorbed back into the bloodstream by the proximal tubules, via active transport mechanisms. Therefore, very little or no glucose should be present in the urine.
